The Westside Tabernacle in Corner Brook is looking into offering a monthly meal for anyone in need in the community. The first one is set to take place in their Fellowship Hall tomorrow starting at 5:30 p.m. and people will have a choice of soup or chilli. Pastor Jeremy Simms says since 1998, the church has been offering a Christmas dinner to the community but recently they’ve been challenged to do more. He says since this is the first monthly meal, they want people to register so they have an idea of how many to prepare for and expect. Simms says it’s open to anyone, including those feeling lonely or widowed or just in need of a warm meal and a place to be around others. To register go to westsidetabernacle.ca or the Westside tabernacle facebook page.
