A Deer Lake company is getting a loan from government to invest in new equipment. Western Woodworks Incorporated is getting $240K from the Business Investment Program to expand its production of roof and floor trusses. The business has been operating in the construction industry since 1978 and has grown to two production facilities (Deer Lake and Grand Falls-Windsor) with over 20 employees. They also sell engineered wood products and steel beams for projects of all sizes. The loan will help the company leverage more than $1 million from other sources to complete the upgrades.
