For those who may want to ditch the artificial tree for something new, the WRWM's Lynn Howse says the larger ones have to be dropped off at a transfer station.

It‘s beginning to look a little like Christmas as some residents have started their annual decorating and the trees are going up. Not to sound like the Grinch, but cleaning up the mess after the holiday can be a task. The Western Regional Waste Management team has plans in place to help people decide where Christmas decor waste should go. Unwanted lights go in the clear garbage bags.

For those who may want to ditch the artificial tree for something new, Howse says the larger ones have to be dropped off at a transfer station and if you plan on a real tree this year, check with your municipality as they may be picking up trees after the holidays.
