Katie Temple of the WEC says while education is a big part of any change we make, it all starts with mindset, and people tend to hold on to a lot of guilt when it comes to environmental change.

As many people are working on following their New Year’s resolutions, the Western Environment Centre would like people to think about Environmental resolutions. Katie Temple is the Executive Director of the Western Environment Centre and was the guest on Bayfm’s The Plain Truth last week. She says while education is a big part of any change we make, it all starts with mindset, and people tend to hold on to a lot of guilt when it comes to environmental change.

Temple says to make change sustainable, people have to keep consistent to reach an impact. She says it’s important to start small, and one example would be under the theme of “food” with composting, buying products with less packaging and waste. She says there’s been a revival of do it yourself projects and a return to skills like knitting, while growing your own food and cutting back on what you buy can make a difference.
