RCMP Sgt Kristen Green says they’ve included events in this conference that provide space for attendees to focus on overall wellness. This includes a calm space, therapy dogs, morning fitness breaks and hopefully, a hike on Friday.

The theme at this year’s Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement Conference is “Strong Minds, Strong Bodies, Strong Women.” Close to 140 female officers from Atlantic Canada registered for the 3 day event underway in St. John’s. It’s co-haired by RNC Cst Kim Oates and RCMP Sgt Kristen Green. Oates says  mental health is vital when taking care of communities.
