Two men have been arrested, and a weapon was seized after fleeing from police in Rocky Harbour. The men  barricaded themselves inside a residence in Woody Point on Sunday night after trying to get away from the RCMP. A 35-year-old man and  20-year-old Joshua Roberts face a number of charges. It started Sunday around 6:30 a.m. after police got a call from a female in distress. She was taken to hospital for treatment and the vehicle was later spotted by Deer Lake RCMP at the scene of a disturbance at the Irving gas station. A second traffic stop was attempted, but the suspects failed to stop and fled eastbound down the Trans-Canada Highway.

The men were located several hours later at a home on Water Street in Woody Point. They barricaded themselves inside the home with a woman  and refused to come out. All three individuals surrendered to police without further incident and were taken into custody. A search of the home and vehicle resulted in the seizure of a BB pistol. The 35 year old man will appear in court at a later date. The woman was not charged.
