RCMP are waiting on toxicology reports to determine whether charges will be laid against a woman after she was involved in a crash in Hearts Desire on April 15th. Police were called to a two vehicle crash around 3:30 that afternoon. The driver of one vehicle fled the scene in another vehicle.  Police noticed the vehicle in the oncoming lane, traveling at a high rate of speed head-on towards the marked police cruiser. RCMP swerved to avoid a collision, turned around to attempt a traffic stop and saw the suspect vehicle pull into a residential driveway in Hearts Content.  Officers pulled into the driveway, blocking it and that’s when the vehicle reversed into the marked police vehicle.  The driver, a 23-year-old woman, showed signs of drug impairment.  She was arrested for impaired operation, flight from police and dangerous operation and is under investigation for assault with a weapon. The driver involved in the Hearts Desire crash, a 26-year-old man, was unlicensed and was operating a vehicle without insurance or registration.  No one was injured.
