Transportation Minister John Abbott has provided an overview of road work awarded this past season. The Minister was speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the Heavy Civil Association of Newfoundland and Labrador. Approximately 80 tenders for road work were awarded for projects such as culvert replacement, bridge repairs and replacement, and approximately 565 kilometres of paving. Some project highlights from the 2023 season include culvert replacement on the Trans-Canada Highway between Corner Brook and Pasadena, and the replacement of Romaine’s River Bridge on Route 460. The Provincial Government is currently finalizing the roads plan for the 2024-25 construction season.
