UPDATE: The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened to traffic. Channel-Port aux Basques RCMP thanks all drivers for their patience and cooperation during the closure.
High winds, slush and icy roads remain a concern in the area. Please slow down and make sure that you are driving according to road and weather conditions.
EARLIER STORY: Channel-Port aux Basque RCMP advises that the Trans-Canada Highway is closed through the Wreckhouse area as crews work to remove a number of vehicles obstructing traffic. An update will be provided when the road has reopened.
