The public are invited to attend this memorable event, 6 pm, Thursday at the Cooks Brook Day Park in Mount Moriah.
There will be a special ceremony at Cooks Brook Day Park in Mount Moriah this week. On Thursday at 6pm, the town will raise the Mi'kmaq Grand Council Flag. Qalipu Chief Brendan Mitchell, Members of Band Council as well as the Town Council will attend. Mount Moriah Mayor Lisa Hunt says they have a long history of being a welcoming and inclusive town. She says they want to permanently recognize the Mi’kmaq nation with a symbol of respect. The Mayor says the day park was created by volunteers and it's a beautiful area which we can sit in now and enjoy thanks to them. The public are invited to attend this memorable event, 6 pm, Thursday at the Cooks Brook Day Park in Mount Moriah.
