The 35th annual radiothon in support of the Western Regional Hospital Foundation has a goal of raising $680K this year to buy medical equipment. The new Western Memorial Regional Hospital came with a lot of new equipment so this year the focus is on helping other medical facilities in the western region. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, Dr. Tony Tavenor says this equipment will have a wide impact on many people in places like Burgeo, Deer Lake, Bonne Bay, and Port Saunders. He says this is the first time other communities have been the focus of the radiothon’s goal. The Corner Brook Kinsmen will be doing a BBQ from 11-1 today.
