Executive Director Suzanne Carey says cardiac monitors will be purchased for Burgeo, keeping patients in their own region instead of having to travel to Corner Brook.
The 35th annual radiothon in support of the Western Regional Hospital Foundation will take to the airways on Bayfm this Friday. The goal this year is to raise $680K and although many pieces of new equipment were bought for the build of the new Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Foundation Executive Director Suzanne Carey says pieces bought through this fundraising initiative will help free up beds at the facility. For example, she says cardiac monitors will be purchased for Burgeo, keeping patients in their own region instead of having to travel to Corner Brook.
Carey tells Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit, there’s help coming for paramedics to be able to treat people at home through buying SUV’s loaded with life saving equipment, which will allow them to treat patients in their own homes. Tune into Rad
thon on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. here on Bayfm.
