Tax bills are in the mail but due to disruptions with delivery by Canada Post, some Corner Brook residents and businesses may not have received an invoice yet. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, Mayor Linda Chaisson says anyone who hasn’t received a tax invoice, can contact city hall. She’s heard from residents with larger tax bills even though their property assessments have not and says that’s a mistake that can be fixed.
In December, council approved a nearly $45M dollar budget that also included an option for businesses to split their tax payments into four per year. Chaisson says the city is open to everyone who has concerns about making payments. As part of Budget 2026, businesses and residents will also get a reduction on interest charged on unpaid taxes.
