Back to school is just weeks away and Staples in Corner Brook is gearing up for their third annual “Stuff the Backpacks.” Staples Manager Wendy Norton came on Bayfm to talk about “Stuff the Backpacks,” which was formerly known as “Block the Bus.” She says last year, this event collected 200 fully stocked backpacks in partnership with Vine Place Community Centre. Norton says it’s an easy sell to get Head Office to support this. She issued a challenge for local businesses to get onboard, with examples like car dealerships competing against each other or a fundraising BBQ. “Stuff the Backpacks” will take place in their parking lot on August 20th from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Dominion will be on site for a BBQ and Bayfm will be broadcasting live on location.
