Strong smell of chlorine in Steady Brook water

    Residents and business owners are advised that the town’s Maintenance Department just completed 2 days of hydrant flushing which increased the chloride levels. 

    The town of Steady Brook has received several direct inquiries regarding the town water and chlorine smell. Residents and business owners are advised that the town’s Maintenance Department just completed 2 days of hydrant flushing which increased the chloride levels.  The chloride levels are showing the correct reading, but it will take 24 to 48 hours for it to run through the system. 

    Also, the town is waving the noise regulations for a special event that is happening tomorrow. The Community Hall has been rented out for an event taking place until 2 a.m Sunday.
