A 35-year-old man was arrested for numerous firearm related offences and it is in relation to an ongoing investigation in the center city area.
St. John’s RNC have charged a 35-year-old man with numerous firearm related offences. It happened last night around 8:15. Police say it is in relation to an ongoing investigation in the center city area of the capital city. On a separate call around 3:45 this morning, St. John’s RNC arrested a 22-year-old man after trying to conduct a traffic stop in the west end. Police say the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. A short time later the vehicle was seen by another officer and the occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver of the vehicle was tracked by K9 and caught. He has been charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and resisting arrest. Police impounded the vehicle.
