Agropur has identified a piece of equipment that is suspected to have been the source of contamination due to its location.

Some Central Dairies 2% milk have been recalled due to a premature spoilage issue at the St. John’s plant. Owned by Agropur, the company issued an updated statement saying  “While overall complaints have been continuously declining as a result of actions taken to date, Agropur has received some complaints of premature spoilage observed for products carrying an expiry date of October 3.  This may continue for 2% milk products with an October 4 expiry date. Meanwhile, they have identified a piece of equipment that is suspected to have been the source of contamination due to its location. The piece is not critical to manufacturing so it was bypassed and will be permanently removed in the coming days. With this new measure in place, the company expects a significant decline in complaints for products with expiry dates beyond October 4.
