Whether it’s “Saltwater Cowboys,” “Music and Friends,” or “The Mummer Song,” nearly every Newfoundlander and Labradorian has heard the music of Simani. Bud Davidge of the band joined Bayfm’s Dean Clarke on Scoffs and Scuffs on March 10th. Davidge will join Shanneyganock at Newfoundland’s Biggest Paddy’s Day Party this Saturday at the Corner Brook Civic Centre Annex. Davidge says he was invited to join them 5-6 years ago. He says it’s been quite the experience since starting the band Simani with Sim Savoury in 1977. The Mummers Song has been on CBC’s Land and Sea each year for 35 years now.
