Shortly before 9:30 last night, Bay St. George RCMP received a report of a disturbance in Stephenville involving an individual with a firearm who was making threats to harm others.
There were several tense moments for RCMP in different areas of the province yesterday and into last night. Around 3:30 yesterday afternoon police responded to an unfolding incident in the area of Shoal Cove Heights in Swift Current. Residents were asked to lock their doors, and this led to an arrest warrant and search for Tony Farrell last night. Earlier in the day just before 1:30 an alert was issued about an incident in Spaniard’s Bay and the Conception Bay Highway was closed. A man was arrested about an hour later. Shortly before 9:30 last night, Bay St. George RCMP received a report of a disturbance in Stephenville involving an individual with a firearm who was making threats to harm others. Police responded immediately, located the individual and arrested him just before 10:00 p.m. in the area of Queen Street. Bay St. George RCMP has received many calls about the situation and assures residents that the matter is resolved.
