Transportation Minister John Abbott met with the Mayor of Lark Harbour, Wade Park, recently and talked about what is needed.
Late last week, more than $32 million dollars was announced for 31 projects in 27 communities from Trepassey to Wabush, and including Corner Brook. Nearly $4 million will replace the retaining wall on Curling Street and the Deep Gulch Brook culvert. Meanwhile, Mayors along the south shore of the Bay of Islands have been asking for road work for some time now due to safety concerns. Transportation Minister John Abbott met with the Mayor of Lark Harbour, Wade Park, recently and talked about what is needed. Abbott says there will be infrastructure funding announced in this week’s budget but how much is yet to be known. Lark Harbour Mayor Wade Park is pleased the Minister has acknowledged the town’s concerns and issues with water and sewer and roads conditions. He’s hopeful the budget may include funding for the community. Park says water and sewer has been 10 years in the making and should have been completed long ago.
