Holiday celebrations should be festive, not fatal. If you are going to consume alcohol or drugs, the RNC wants you to plan a safe ride home, designate a driver, take a taxi or rideshare, or stay overnight. Cst Stephanie Myers says police will be doing more patrols and targeting impaired driving during the busy party and travel season. She says with a new traffic unit in Corner Brook, officers will be proactively looking to find impaired drivers. There will be checkpoints, radar enforcement and traffic safety stops to help ensure those behind the wheel are sober. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s all do our part to ensure a safe and joyous holiday season for all.
