While many people are travelling, shopping or celebrating, there are always those who end up on the naughty list for stealing holiday cheer. Cst Steph Myers says there are some simple steps to help keep homes safe and secure. Keep gifts and valuables out of sight, keep your property well lit, and keep windows and doors locked.
Myers says always store tools and ladders so they cannot be used to gain access to your home. Ask a trusted neighbour or friend to check on your property while you’re away, and never advertise your absence on social media.
