While many people are travelling, shopping or celebrating, there are always those who end up on the naughty list for stealing holiday cheer. Myers says always store tools and ladders so they cannot be used to gain access to your home. Ask a trusted neighbour or friend to check on your property while you’re away, and never advertise your absence on social media.
