Agree to a buddy system because despite your best intentions, in crowded spaces it is easy to get separated, so designate a meeting point in case you get lost or split up.

The RNC is encouraging residents to practice personal safety ahead of seasonal social gatherings. Cst James Cadigan says by planning ahead, having open conversations with friends, and being situationally aware, you can have an experience to remember for all the right reasons. Agree to a buddy system because despite your best intentions, in crowded spaces it is easy to get separated, so designate a meeting point in case you get lost or split up.

Cadigan says never leave drinks unattended.. Obtain medical assistance immediately for anyone displaying symptoms of illness or loss of consciousness. Do not drive impaired. Arrange a sober ride home, get a cab or book a ride-share. If you suspect an impaired driver, call 911. Report suspicious activities to the RNC. With education and awareness, the RNC hopes that by working together we can reduce the risks and help ensure a safe and enjoyable event experience for all.
