RNC offer tips ahead of holiday shopping, keep valuables out of sight and vehicles locked

    Park in well-lit areas, especially if you are shopping after dark.

    Shoppers are seeking out the biggest sales of the season and the RNC is reminding people to stay vigilant while shopping for the holidays. Cst Stephanie Myers says there are things you can do to make sure those presents you buy make it under the tree for who they were meant for. Lock your vehicle, keep valuables out of sight, and report suspicious activity to police. Myers says shop with family or friends and stay focused on your surroundings. If you must go alone, let someone know where you are. Park in well-lit areas, especially if you are shopping after dark. Cst Myers says have your keys ready before getting to your vehicle.
