Youth under the age of 16 must be supervised at all times and must only operate an off-road vehicle that is suitable for their age/weight as indicated by the manufacturer.
As we get ready to head into a busy summer riding season, the RNC is reminding both operators and passengers of the importance of off-road vehicle safety. Cst James Cadigan says all terrain vehicles are fun and exciting but can be dangerous. Youth under the age of 16 must be supervised at all times and must only operate an off-road vehicle that is suitable for their age/weight as indicated by the manufacturer. Cadigan says the RNC encourages the public to report dangerous or aggressive driving. Off-road vehicles must be licensed and insured. Tickets and fines can be issued and machines seized.
The RNC remains dedicated to working with our enforcement and community partners to increase road safety. Please report aggressive and unsafe operation of motor vehicles by calling 911. To report anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
