Since then there have been another four checks and they were all compliant.
The RCMP’s West District General Investigation Section in Corner Brook has an ongoing initiative aimed at strengthening oversight of individuals with court imposed conditions. Staff Sargent Danny Murrin says many of the orders they check are “prolific offenders” meaning they are known to police and in their communities. In January, police ramped it up with twenty‑one checks whereby thirteen were found to be fully compliant with their conditions. Six were in breach and arrested for failing to comply.
As well, two people were arrested on outstanding warrants. Since then there have been another four checks and they were all compliant.
