Police say the third driver, a 61 year old man, was stopped north of Eddie’s Cove for excessive speeding doing 144km in a 90km zone.
In one day, July 23rd, RCMP Traffic Services West seized three vehicles and issued a lot of tickets during a traffic safety campaign on the Northern Peninsula. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says police were focused on excessive speed, impaired operation, unsafe drivers and other traffic violations. He says the first driver, a 37-year old man, was operating without insurance in Cormack on July 23rd. He says the next driver was stopped for having a cracked windshield. The man was also ticketed for operating an unregistered vehicle. Traffic Services officers issued 21 additional tickets for violations under the Highway Traffic Act, including 11 for speeding.
