The past few days have been busy on the radar for RCMP Traffic Services West. Police charged five drivers with various infractions since Friday and impounded five vehicles. The first was a 34-year-old Springdale man who was pulled over on the Trans Canada Highway in Deer Lake. He was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license, registration or insurance. Around 12:30 the next morning, on the Main Road in Hampden, a 56-year-old man, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He showed signs of impairment and a small quantity of cocaine was located. Later, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police pulled a vehicle over on Peddle’s Lane in Deer Lake. A 28-year-old Pasadena man failed a roadside breath test and was arrested for impaired driving. At approximately 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, police conducted a traffic stop on the Main Road in Three Rock Cove. The driver, a 53-year-old man provided a roadside breath sample which was above the provincial limit and he was issued a licence suspension. His vehicle was seized and impounded.
