RCMP NL reporting "encouraging" weekend, no impaired driving charges laid and hundreds checked

    Only one person had to do a roadside test, which was passed.

    Last weekend, RCMP NL set up nearly a dozen check stops and checked hundreds of vehicles. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey more than 450 vehicles were checked and no impaired driving charges laid. Only one person had to do a roadside test, which was passed. A small number of tickets were issued under the Highway Traffic Act for things like not wearing a seat belt and driving without valid insurance.
