Cpl Jolene Garland says it will provide more transparency and valuable information.
Yesterday, the provincial government launched a new interactive Crime Dashboard. It provides a detailed overview of statistical crime data, including Statistics Canada. RCMP NL is welcoming the new crime dashboard and believes it will be an important tool in policing. Cpl Jolene Garland says it will provide more transparency and valuable information. RCMP officers are currently serving over 600 communities from detachments across the province – many in rural areas – and this tool offers a reliable, data-driven way for the public to visualize the commitment, efforts and impact of police in their response to criminal investigations. Garland says these statistics reinforce the importance of strong support and resources for police services. Beyond enforcement, police officers are also working in our communities on crime prevention and public safety, and education initiatives.
