During the month of December, participating RCMP detachments across the province will show support for children and their families by putting up a tree and welcoming members of the community to donate.
RCMP detachments throughout the province will be helping put smiles on the faces of children this Christmas. A special kick-off to their 40th Annual Wish Trees campaign takes place today. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says this is a partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada. During the month of December, participating RCMP detachments across the province will show support for children and their families by putting up a tree and welcoming members of the community to donate. All funds raised will help Make-A-Wish® Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador create life-changing wishes for local children with critical illnesses.
O’Donaghey says at today’s launch RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador’s Commanding Officer, Assistant Commissioner Pat Cahill and Make-A-Wish® Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Development Officer Kierstyn Parks will be in attendance and available to discuss the campaign and its impact.
