Qalipu First Nation is busy putting final touches at career fairs, a traditional use study and bird survey this month. On Bayfm’s Qalipu Today the guest was the band’s Communications Manager Kellie Clark. She says the education and training department are doing a lot of outreach this month having already attended a career fair at Grenfell and another one coming at the College of the North Atlantic on March 24th. Clark says they’ll talk about the Graduate Incentive Program and the Community Jobbank for post secondary graduates.
Meanwhile, Clark says the Environment and Natural Resources team is conducting a traditional use study within the Newfound Gold Greensway North Project area located in central NL. She says this department does important work preserving the culture, as well as, land and water use which informs research and stewardship. She says they are also doing a bird survey and are looking for watchers. On March 21st, there will be a Community Arts session here in Corner Brook and a drum workshop in St. Albans.
