When the pool at Grenfell Campus announced it was closing in 2015, it set the wheels in motion to find a solution for the 40 year old facility. This led to a partnership between the city and the university. Fast forward to this weekend, and Corner Brook’s new Marina Redmond Centre will officially open at 10 a.m. tomorrow for a public tour. Mayor Jim Parsons says regular hours will begin on Sunday. He says this centre will serve the city for decades to come. The Marina Redmond Centre has two completely accessible pools, including a leisure pool with a lazy river, a big water slide and sauna. There is also a fitness area with high end equipment, a gymnasium, multi purpose room, and a daycare.
