This legislation guides the delivery of child protection, in-care, and youth services programs throughout the province.
The Department of Families and Affordability has started a review of the Children, Youth and Families Act and they want your input. This legislation guides the delivery of child protection, in-care, and youth services programs throughout the province. It is reviewed every five years and this year the focus is on key policy areas such as child welfare practice with Indigenous children, youth and families, permanency planning for children and youth in need of protection, outcomes for children and youth in care, youth transitioning to adulthood, as well as information sharing in the best interests of children and youth. An online questionnaire is now available at engagenl.ca and will be open until July 18th.
