Mayor Linda Chaisson says this will cost more but safety has no price tag.
Corner Brook residents and motorists should notice a difference with snow clearing and removal. That’s because the city has hired private contractors with blowers and snow plows to come in and help. During the month of January, the city received about 290 cms of snow and the total for last year was only 380 cms. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, Mayor Linda Chaisson says this will cost more but safety has no price tag. She says this is something residents have asked for and there are still side roads that need clearing. Residents are reminded to call 637-1666 if they need help.
Chaisson says timing is a big issue and the snow started but it hasn’t stopped. She says the snow started and never stopped, and they can’t put the blower on at the same time as the plow.
Meanwhile, according to Benoit the forecast for the Corner Brook area isn;t calling for a dump of snow for the rest of the week.
