As Corner Brook welcomes another cruise ship visit tomorrow , the Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade is impressed with the number of visits this year. Past President Keith Goulding says these visits are tremendously important to local businesses. He says 56,000 passengers and 23,000 crew are expected in port this summer and they spend time and money here. Goulding says the cruises are turning a lot of traffic to the Visitor Information Centre virtually with cruise ship travellers looking for things to do while they are in port. He says cruising will move into a year round operation at the Corner Brook Port soon and the port has talked about 12 months of cruising next year, which will promote all seasons of tourism. The Insignia owned by Oceania Cruises will dock at 11 a.m. tomorrow and leave port at 10 o’clock tomorrow night.
