Gill wants to review policies to ensure they are flexible enough to help rather than hinder.
Last month, Bayfm reported two people in Corner Brook would be running for the Mayor’s seat during the fall municipal election. They were current Mayor Jim Parsons as well as current Deputy Mayor Linda Chaisson. Since that time, Parsons has decided instead to run for the MHA seat in the city. Yesterday, Councillor Pamela Gill announced her intention to also run for Mayor. Spending four years on council now, she says she’s learned it’s not as easy as snapping your fingers. Gill wants to review policies to ensure they are flexible enough to help rather than hinder. As well, she says power needs to be in the proper hands. Gill says other sectors that need more support are small businesses, safety, healthcare, housing, communications, as well as, equity, diversion and inclusion.
