Paul Dinn says he’s spoken with health professionals trying to return home to work, but are met with barriers at every turn.
The province’s opposition Health Critic is raising concerns over lost opportunities to address healthcare needs. Paul Dinn says he’s spoken with health professionals trying to return home to work, but are met with barriers at every turn. He says a mother recently phoned him and said her daughter is a Psychiatric Nursing graduate unable to get a job here at home. While the western provinces have Registered Psychiatric Nursing Boards, the Atlantic Provinces do not. Dinn says we need this service here. He says government also needs to be more transparent when talking about the progress of healthcare workers recruitment and retention. Dinn says there are many stories about the process and young health care professionals are just not getting the call back.
