Off-road vehicle restrictions in NL have been lifted but operators asked to avoid travel in dry conditions

    These vehicles must be equipped with a proper screening or baffling device to prevent sparks from escaping.

    The temporary restriction on off-road vehicles is over but the province -wide fire ban remains in effect until at least September 7th. That’s when government will review its status due to wildfires. Meanwhile, those who plan to use off-road vehicles are recommended to make it a habit to consider the conditions of the forested areas around them and avoid travel when conditions are very dry. These vehicles must be equipped with a proper screening or baffling device to prevent sparks from escaping. Off-road vehicle operators must also carry a fire extinguisher with a minimum of 225 grams of ABC-class dry chemical when travelling in grassy or wooded areas.
