The Deep Gulch culvert replacement project in Corner Brook is moving at a good pace and O’Connell Drive should be open to traffic within the next few days. Mayor Jim Parsons says the work underneath, including pipes and concrete trench plugs are done and contractors are starting to fill in the hole. It has to be packed and this will continue for a couple of days before moving onto University Drive. Parsons says weather has been favourable for work to continue. He says it’s unknown how long the project will take in the University Drive area, once it begins. The hope was to have the project complete by July 1st but Parsons says that’s not likely now.
