Kings-Hants MP Kody Blois was in Corner Brook on Friday to announce $1.1M for 5 west coast tourism related projects.
$1.4 billion dollars is tied to the tourism industry which employs about 20,000 people and a Nova Scotia MP believes there are ways to make that grow. Kings-Hants MP Kody Blois was in Corner Brook on Friday to announce $1.1M for 5 west coast tourism related projects. While on the west coast, he met with officials from the Deer Lake Regional Airport, tourism officials, as well as the Mayors of Corner Brook, Deer Lake and the Gros Morne area. In late July, government announced a 50 percent cut to passenger and vehicle fares at Marina Atlantic. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, Blois ( bloice like royce as in rolls royce ) says that’s hundreds of dollars in savings for some people but what’s needed now is more capacity.
Blois was also in St. John’s last week when Cenovus announced upcoming production plans with first oil expected next year at the White Rose project. He says whether it ‘s tourism, forestry, natural resources or energy, NL has what the rest of the world needs. He says the NL offshore Oil and Gas sector has the lowest intensity oil in the world.
Blois also visited Clarenville and Arnold’s Cove and says he plans to bring infrastructure needs and priorities of communities he has visited back to the Prime Minister.
