Nominations for candidates running in the municipal election in Corner Brook will be accepted next week

    Every candidate must pay a non-refundable $50 deposit with the Returning Officer.

    Nominations of candidates for election to the Council for the City of Corner Brook will be received between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. starting on Thursday, August 28th. The nomination process will continue until  September 4th and will take place at the Corner Brook Curling Club. Nominations shall be in writing and state the name and civic address of the candidate and shall be signed by the Proposer and Seconder, both of whom shall be present together with the candidate. Every candidate must pay a non-refundable $50 deposit with the Returning Officer. They must be at least 18, not owe money to the city, and must be a resident of Corner Brook for at least 30 days before nomination.
