There will be no changes to the mill rate for Corner Brook residents and businesses meaning no tax increases next year. There will, however, be a new $150 Waste Management Levy, as contaminations costs continue to rise. Businesses can now make tax payments quarterly, and along with residents, will see a 50% reduction on interest for property taxes. Transit ridership has gone up ten percent and the city will be extending hours of operation daily until 11 p.m. and will start a service on Saturdays, looking at the possibility of Sundays.
