Families and friends can enter the building through the loading door entrance to the right of the main entrance which remains closed.
An update on social media from the Deer Lake Manor highlights a potentially serious situation but fortunately there were no injuries. The building was significantly damaged after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning. A post on the group’s Facebook page yesterday said “The damaged canopy has been removed from the front entrance as well as the broken window in the dining room. Repairs to these affected areas will continue in the coming days. Currently with the dining room closed residents are enjoying meal delivery to their rooms. “ The hope is to have the dining room open again tomorrow. Meanwhile, families and friends can enter the building through the loading door entrance to the right of the main entrance which remains closed. The social media post thanked the dedicated first responders on scene and the quick, calm action of staff saying, “ Interestingly enough, not one single resident even woke up!” RCMP is expected to release more information regarding the incident soon.
