Last year, just under twenty percent of private sector businesses in Canada were owned by women. On last week’s edition of the Plain Truth, the guest was Carolyn Wakeham, the CEO of the Newfoundland and Labrador organization of Women Entrepreneurs, or N-LOWE. She says the group is a not for profit provincial organization that has been in operation for the past 25 years which helps women start, grow, and advance their businesses. Wakeham says there are advisors throughout the province and they offer training, mentorships and networking. She says there are representatives in Corner Brook. For more information go to nlowe.org
