NL Government speeds up plan to have lowest poverty rates in Canada by 2036

    A committee has been formed to lead the Poverty Reduction and Prevention Strategy.

    Government is speeding up work on a new 10-year plan to reduce poverty rates to the lowest in Canada by 2036. A committee has been formed to lead the Poverty Reduction and Prevention Strategy. Over the coming months, government will work with community groups, Indigenous governments and organizations, service providers and residents through focus groups, surveys, sessions and regional symposiums, some of which are underway in the western region.
