Although there hasn’t been a public meeting yet, the newly sworn in council at Corner Brook city hall is busy getting orientation out of the way. Mayor Linda Chaisson has 16 years on council under her belt and Deputy Mayor Pamela Keeping is also a former councillor, but the new Mayor says it takes time getting used to the faces and changes.This is a process that could take three weeks. The municipal election was nearly a month ago and Chaisson says the new team is eager to get started. Chaisson says most of the council campaigned on the theme of “Stronger Together’ and that includes all levels of government, the Qalipu and more. She says the Long Range Mountains MP called yesterday to request a meeting with council on November 13th.
