The new MEO will be responsible for off-road vehicles, animal control, snow clearing, nuisance, covered garbage, fireworks, and traffic bylaws.
Mount Moriah has a new town cop, and it’s the result of three communities coming together to provide easier enforcement of bylaws. The new municipal enforcement officer will be serving Pasadena and Massey Drive as well. Mt. Moriah Mayor Lisa Duffney says this is not about handing out tickets. The new MEO will be responsible for off-road vehicles, animal control, snow clearing, nuisance, covered garbage, fireworks, and traffic bylaws. Duffney says this is a positive move for the town and residents have been asking for this. She says for the past two years, there has been conflict about regulations concerning animal control and noise. Duffney says now there’s a professional person who can mediate between the community and residents.
