Municipal elections to take place October 2nd, 2025

    The original date of September 30th, will be deferred to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which falls on the same day.

    Voters in NL will be heading to the polls a little later next year for a municipal election. The Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs is advising that the date of the 2025 general municipal election for all cities, towns, and local service districts, previously set to take place on September 30th, will be deferred to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which falls on the same day. The 2025 general municipal election will now take place on October 2, 2025.
